How it works
After n losses you’ve staked base × (2ⁿ − 1) and need base × 2ⁿ on the next bet just to get one unit ahead. Stakes grow exponentially, so even a normal losing run — the kind the Losing Streak calculator shows is routine — outruns any sane bankroll or hits the table limit.
The maths is unforgiving: the rare big loss exactly cancels the many small wins, and the house edge tips the balance against you. Included here as the cautionary tale, never as a recommendation.

Worked example
- $10 → $20 → $40 → $80 → $160 → $320 …
- Six losses in a row: $630 already staked, and the next bet is $640.

- Does the Martingale system work?
- No. Stakes double after each loss, so a normal losing run quickly exceeds your bankroll or the table limit. The inevitable big loss wipes out all the small wins, and the house edge does the rest.
- How many losses can a Martingale survive?
